Key ACU EnduroGB battles to resume in Yorkshire
The ACU EnduroGB Championship resumes this weekend (29-30 May) as the Rieju Yorkshire Enduro takes centre stage, hosting the third and fourth rounds of the 2026 series.

Based at Helmsley in North Yorkshire, the event runs to the timecard enduro format and will feature two special tests that are both brand new, and located a short walk from the start of the event (What3Words: recovery.venue.ballpoint).

One test is purely cross-country, while the second mixes cross-country and forestry terrain with some more technical sections and estate tracks. Yorkshire Enduro organisers have worked hard to put together a route that features new sections and fresh ground – ensuring a good test of riding ability across the classes.

Points leader Jamie McCanney (Triumph Racing Enduro Team) will be hoping to pull clear of the chasing pack in the Elite class, while Nieve Holmes (ET James Sherco Enduro Team – pictured above) and Rosie Rowett will resume their Elite Women battle after emerging from the Jack Frost Enduro level on points.

Josh Lawer and Kris Price share top spot in the Expert standings heading to Yorkshire, while Tommy Wills is hoping to extend his one-point lead in the Clubman standings.

After finishing P11 in last year’s final points aboard a Husqvarna 250 machine, the 18-year-old has switched to a Yamaha 125 for the new season. He also made it a priority to keep active during the winter by contesting some local hare and hound and timecard events.

Taking a win and another podium finish at the Jack Frost Enduro in March illustrated how much speed the youngster has been able to unlock at the beginning of 2026 – despite only taking delivery of his new machine a month before the season curtain raiser.

Tommy Wills has made a strong start in the Clubman class after switching to 125cc machinery
“The 250 was probably a bit too much for me last season,” he explained. “I feel like I’m on top of the 125 and riding it rather than feeling like I’m being pulled along by the 250. I could definitely ride the 125 a lot harder in Wales and it was easier to attack. That’s something that obviously showed in the final results.”

The Farnham-based rider has never competed at Helmsley, but he’s hoping the terrain will play to his strengths when the competitive action gets underway on Saturday (30 May).

“I haven’t ridden in Helmsley before but I’ve heard the terrain is pretty technical and that’s something I really like,” he added. “The tighter tests in the forests are in my sweet spot, whereas I can struggle a little bit in the faster stuff. Whatever I discover in North Yorkshire, I’m looking forward to the challenge of trying to build on my early results.”

In the Clubman Over 40 class, Shane Tasker holds a ten-point lead over Alex Pringle and Anthony Trawford heading to Helmsley, while Jason Rees has an identical gap in the Clubman Over 50 ranks. Chrissie Harcourt will be hoping to close a six-point gap to Ceri Wyn Jones in the Clubman Women class.
