The Auto-Cycle Union (ACU) Enduro Commission is pleased to announce the appointment of Alex Jones as its new Women and Girls Lead, a role created to strengthen female participation and representation across all levels of the sport.
Working under the leadership of Commission Chairman Tristan Robinson, this newly established position reflects the ACU’s ongoing commitment to developing enduro for women and girls, from grassroots participation through to international competition, including Grand Prix level.
Alex will work closely with the Commission to support initiatives that encourage growth, accessibility, and long-term development within the female enduro community.
Tristan Robinson commented:
“I’m delighted to welcome Alex Jones to be the Women and Girls Lead for the ACU Enduro Commission. With her experience as ISDE Women’s Team Manager, she is perfectly placed to help grow the domestic sport and ensure we foster the next generation of female enduro champions.”
Alex Jones added:
“Stepping into the role of Women’s Enduro Lead for the ACU Enduro Commission is something I’m incredibly proud of. While I have stepped down as ISDE Team GB Women’s Manager, my commitment to progressing women’s enduro remains as strong as ever. There is significant potential within this space, and I am determined to help drive its continued growth. Working closely with the Enduro Commission, Pippa Laverty and the wider enduro community, I’m excited about what we can build together. Increasing participation of women in the sport at all levels from grassroots through to elite is something I am deeply passionate about, and a challenge I’m truly excited to take on.”
Enduro Commission Structure and Responsibilities
A key objective for Tristan Robinson upon taking on the role of Chairman was to clearly define the responsibilities within the Commission, ensuring transparency and strong leadership across all areas of the sport.
The ACU Enduro Commission is structured as follows:
Tristan Robinson – Chairman
Andy Waters – Vice Chairman, Safety and Regulation Lead
Mick Seward – Extreme and Rally Lead
Chris Edwards – Classic, Sidecar and Technical Lead

The Role of the Commission
For many riders, particularly those newer to the sport, the structure and purpose of an ACU Commission may not always be clear.
The Enduro Commission plays a vital role in shaping the direction of the sport in the UK. Its members are elected to represent the interests of riders, organisers, and stakeholders, working collectively to ensure enduro remains:
Safe for all participants
Accessible at grassroots level
Competitive on the international stage
Sustainable for future generations
Commission members dedicate their time and expertise to improving the sport, addressing challenges, and protecting its long-term future. From regulatory frameworks and event safety to youth development and elite performance pathways, every decision is made with the best interests of enduro at heart.
In an ever-changing landscape, the Commission also works hard to navigate external challenges facing the sport, safeguarding its longevity while continuing to create opportunities for riders at every level.
Inspiring the Next Generation
A core focus of the Commission is to engage and inspire younger riders, helping them understand that the sport is supported by a team of committed individuals working behind the scenes.
These roles are not only positions of responsibility but of representation. Each member has been selected to bring expertise, passion, and leadership, ensuring that the voices of the enduro community are heard and acted upon.
With the addition of the Women and Girls Lead role, the ACU Enduro Commission takes another important step forward in building a more inclusive and progressive future for the sport.
