About WWTW

Walking With The Wounded (WWTW) was established to raise funds to finance the re-training and re-education of wounded servicemen and women and in so doing assists them in acquiring the skills and qualifications necessary to find new careers outside the military.

The charity funds qualifications, courses and further education enabling the physically and mentally injured to rebuild their lives and return to the workplace, and in so doing provide long-term security to them and their families. To raise awareness, we stage high profile expeditions to champion our wounded. The expeditions are corporately funded by our sponsors, and none of the monies raised for the charity support these endeavours. The brand illustrates the determination and courage of the WIS community and acts as an inspiration to those facing adversity, whatever their circumstances.

These are just some of the reasons why RHL Activities have chosen this fantastic charity.

“Our Wounded don’t want pity and sorrow, but they do need our support,” says Gareth Hockey.

“WWTW’s core values which lay at the heart of the charities identity represent the characteristics they are trying to develop within our wounded as they make the challenging transition from military to civilian life. With almost 80% of all donations received by the charity going towards funding relevant programs we are confident that the Beach Race will make a positive contribution to the on-going support of these extraordinary individuals and their families.”

Commenting on the partnership, Andrew Cook Director of Fundraising for Walking With The Wounded said, “We are delighted to be working with RHL, one of our key challenges is to generate awareness of ‘Our Wounded’ and to raise the profile of the support that is required.

Events such as the Beach Race provide great exposure for the charity in an environment where a competitive spirit is underpinned by a collective desire to support those that have given so much on our behalf.”
