Taking on the organisation of the British Youth Nationals, which will replace the current BYMX series, will be a challenge, but RHL firmly believes the championship needs to return its focus to nurturing UK talent into future champions for years to come. The format for next year will remain largely the same, with the addition of a series for 50cc Auto riders.
“This will be one of our biggest challenges ever,” explained Gareth Hockey. “It is something we are very passionate about and it will lead us to create future British world champions and develop the sport in a positive and proactive manner."
"For the first year the Series will run over six exciting rounds. With the current financial climate here in the UK we are conscious at cost so the aim is to keep people racing and build a solid platform over the next five years," concluded Hockey.
Every rider who signs up for the championship will be automatically enrolled into the RHL Academy, with access to a whole host of professional training and advice.
Brian Higgins, Chairman of ACU Ltd said "This is a very positive step for the ACU British Youth Championship which is a very important Series to help bring on young talent and produce our Champions of the future. Gareth Hockey and RHL Activities Ltd have our total support in moving this Championship forward".
