ACU U23 Enduro squad riders Jack Rowland, Alex Rockwell, Johnny Walker and Danny McCanney had been selected by team manager Dusty Martin and they certainly gave their all.
Jack Rowland was forced to retire on Day 3 with mechanical problems but that only seemed to make the remaining team members more determined and as the going got tougher and some encountered more mechanical troubles, they just dug deeper to produce a result that had the Great Britain support team cheering at every stage.
Johnny Walker finished up as best British rider overall as well as taking a superb overall 4th spot in the E3 category, and all who saw his performance holding off some of the best riders in the World in the final MX will reckon that was very well deserved.
Another U 23 ACU squad member Ashley Wood had been transferred from the Junior team into the British World Trophy Team, and Ashley stepped up to the mark with a mature and steady performance to gain a silver medal
The Trophy team consisted of Ashley Wood, Greg Evans, Jordon Rose, Tom Sagar, Si Wakely and of course the legendary Paul Edmondson.
Trouble struck on the very first day when Greg Evans crashed and broke his collar bone, and when the mechanical gremlins struck Jordon Rose on Day 3 , the score started to mount
The remaining team members stuck to the task however and Paul Edmondson made ISDE history by gaining his 17th Gold medal
Tom also came home with a gold with the remaining Trophy riders taking silver.
Wales took 6th spot in the Team competition with SACU showing great promise to end in 9th spot
It was the ACU British Junior World Trophy who saw everyone set off home with renewed anticipation for the future
None of this would have been possible of course without the tremendous work of the British support crews and a big thanks must go to everyone involved in a superb team effort
