For James Dabill it was a case of normal service has been resumed as last Sunday he won Round 6 of the ACU Events sponsored British Trials series.
Held at Brimham Rock near to Pateley Bridge, Dabill beat his closest rival Michael Brown by nine marks over three testing lap. It was nip and tuck for most of lap 1 although they were losing points at different sections but the current British Champion kept it tight and in the end took a reasonably comfortable win. Jack Challoner returning to the home series started badly but got better as the day went on and the course started to dry out and he would go on to take third.
Experts A saw a new winner in the shape of Jack Spencer. Jack is always there or there abouts and this was a well-deserved win for the Beta rider who saw Gary Macdonald finish second from a resurgent James Fry in third. This result throws the A Class wide open with Spencer now only one point adrift of Ricky Wiggins in the title chase.
It was a similar story in Experts B where there was also a new winner. This time it was Adam Milner who would take the win from Guy Kendrew with James Lampkin third. All three riders finished on sixty four mars lost which was pretty tough going. Milner took the win on the tie break rule. It was not a good day for MRS Sherco rider Richard Timperley who had been leading the class until the day. A fifth place dropped him down to second in the overall standings but again it is really close and only one point separates him from Kendrew with just two rounds remaining.
In the youth group Bradley Cox continued his excellent run of form taking the win from Tom Dexter with Chris Stay third.
