Looking for something a little different this August Bank Holiday!
Then why not consider the fast pace world of drag bike racing and the fourth round of the ACU championships being contested at Stratford-Upon-Avon?s Shakespeare County Raceway and the sixth annual Open Sport Nationals.

Following the summer break, the organising club Avon Park International Racing Association is expecting a bumper entry in all 5 ACU classes from the nitro burners in Top Fuel to the 190 mph seven second world of Super Street. There will also be national championship action from the newly established 8.50 Bike class as well as 9.50 Bike, National Association of Supertwins and Junior Drag Bike categories.

From the three rounds contested so far, Graham Dance and his powerful 1425cc G-Sign Suzuki currently leads the ultra competitive Super Street Bike class over the 1300cc Suzuki of Steve Venables. Harold Wolfenden?s 1299cc Suzuki ?Triggers Broom? leads a revitalised Competition Bike category over the 1640cc Suzuki of Warpspeed Racing?s Stuart Crane. In Pro Stock Bike, its European jet setter Len Paget on his experimental White Lightening 4-Link Suzuki leading class over Dave Beck while in Funny Bike the French Injection Kawasaki leads over Mike Olie.

The three day meet also features a variety of car classes from the 200 mph Super Modified?s and Super Pro ET Dragsters down to the VW classes and nostalgia dragsters from the Wild Bunch.

Shakespeare County Raceway is situated 6 miles south of the historic town of Stratford with free grandstands, pit access, parking, weekend camping and much more.
