After a brilliant weekend in Cornwall, for the last round of the British Clubman Sidecar Championship, the teams head for Sussex for round 6 on July 17th. The meeting is being hosted by the Twickenham & District MCC at Stammerham Farm, Rusper and if last year was anything to go by should be a day of exciting racing. In addition to the Clubman Championship it is also a round of the SEMX Championship and of course it is also the Frank Munday Memorial Cup meeting so lots to race for! With a full line up made from not just clubman teams it should be action all the way.
As far as the Clubman Championship is concerned Neil and Michael Franks are still heading the table and have just returned from their first foray abroad, riding in the support race at the Belgium Sidecar GP with a 7th place overall. Dave Goddard and Scott Cooper are 36 points behind but unfortunately Scott is out injured after an incident at the last round of the British Sidecar Championship but hopefully Dave has found a stand in passenger for this meeting to keep their championship hopes alive. Martin Guilford and Rob Batten a further 55 behind but Nick Bowers and Pete Batt, another team who crossed the channel to Belgium, are only one point behind them. Nick will be hoping to claw back some points as injury meant he was unable to compete in Cornwall.
The action on July 17th starts with practice at 1000 and the first race approx 1130.
Spectators can see all the action for £5, with children free, which also includes Expert and Junior solo classes.
The track can be found at Stammerham Farm, Capel Road, Rusper, W.Sussex RH12 4PZ
