Things for this year’s 65th running of the Patchquick Trophy meeting which is to take place at Phoenix Moto Parc (formerly Whiteway Barton) on Wednesday night 27th July are all in hand and with a prize fund of over £4,000 entries are now starting to come in.
Last years Trophy winner Brad Anderson will be making a return to Devon and will be hoping to have his name again engraved on this famous Trophy which is worth over £25,000. Other riders who will be hoping to do the same will be the likes of Stephen Sword, Alex Snow, Mel Pocock plus many Premier Championship riders in the shape of 2010 Premier Mx1 Champion and current 2011 Championship leader John May, Luke Hill, Tom Harvey, Wayne Shimell, Mark Popperwell, Sam Chapman, Ross Flashman, Luke Mellows plus many others who will be confirming after this weekends Maxxis British Championship.
There is also junior racing where there is some fine talent on display, especially in the shape of young 17 year old Bill Farleigh who will be on his home track along with fellow up and coming youngsters Tommy Alba and Jack Stevens plus many more. This will be the 65th running of the event and again will be sponsored by Phoenix Tools of Kingsteignton with St Blazey M/c Sponsoring the Junior Cup. The meeting will be starting at 5pm with the practice session followed by the first race at 6pm.
On the evening the meeting will be limited to 40 Expert riders and 80 Junior riders. The junior riders will receive two races during the course of the evening, while the Experts will have three races as they battle to get their name engraved onto the Patchquick Trophy.
