Cancellation of the FIM and UEM Trials Rounds in Myslenice, Poland

Friday June 17, 2011 at 4:32pm
Continued and severe rainfall in the region has caused significant and extensive landslides in the area, which has resulted in the relevant authorities taking decisions that are out of the control of the local organiser.

The Forest Inspectorate of Myslenice and the National Parks Administration have removed all permission of land use in the affected area indefinitely and until further notice, leaving the local organiser with no option other than to cancel their event that was due to be held in early September.

CTR Director David Willoughby commented. "The FIM is deeply disappointed to receive this news, however we totally respect the circumstances and the decision of the local organiser. We hope that in time the region of Myslenice will recover from these unfortunate natural events, and that at some stage in the future we will be able to return to this popular venue."

Myslenice is situated in the South of Poland, just thirty kilometres from the city of Krakow, and close to the Slovakia border. The small town with a population of just over twenty-thousand people, had the honour of hosting last year's FIM Trial des Nations, the twenty-seventh edition of this team competition, and in fact was the venue for the first ever inter country Trial back in 1984.
