Wooley Grange ready for the opening round of the Maxxis British Sidercar Cross Championship

This weekend the North East Motocross Club, along with a team from the ACU will be hosting the opening round of the Maxxis British Sidecar Cross Championship at Wooley Grange. The Wooley Grange circuit has seen a complete revamp over the winter months in preparation for this weekend. In recent weeks large amounts of new chestnut fencing and track posts have been put in around the track.

This will be the first time in many years that the Championship has visited the North East and over the winter months there have been a number of significant changes within the top teams, one major change has been that current champion Stuart Brown has lost the services of Luke Peters who retired as a passenger and is now teamed up with Josh Chamberlain. Runner up last year Scott Wilkinson has also changed his passenger and now has Craig Parmenter in the chair. The other major change is Paul Pelling who has moved away from Husqvarna power and has gone for the 707cc Jawa engine.

Weather forecasts for the weekend show that the warm weather is set to continue and the track set to be in superb condition for some great racing, so make sure to get to Wooley Grange on Sunday. The action starts with practice at 9am and admission for Adults is £10 and £5 for children over 5 years old. The track will be signposted from the A68 at Tow Law and the nearest postcode to the venue for Sat Nav users is DL15 9AN.
