IF you want affordable exciting racing then look no further than the ACU Suzuki GSX-R Trophy 2010 which is inviting entrants to sign up now.
Simply e-mail [email protected] or phone on 01788 566406 and she will post you the necessary paperwork for you to complete and return, ensuring your place on the grid in one of the most vibrant 2010 road racing Championships.
The ACU Suzuki GSX-R Trophy is one of the most affordable ways to go road racing with registration fees of just £150 and then £150 entry per round for the 11-round series.
All you need is a Suzuki GSX-R600 from 2006 - 2010. If you do want a new GSX-R600 it gets better as Suzuki will sell to you through its subsidised Race Programme for just £4760.87 (excluding VAT) from your local dealer - but you will need to provide detailed proof of Championship registration.
There is a control tyre from Dunlop, the GP Racer D211, available at £200 a pair and some minimal stock modifications allowed as per the rules in 2009 – see www.gsxrtrophy.co.uk.
The series, going into its third successful year, will run from March to October provisionally:
27th & 28th March Snetterton Bemsee 2 rounds
29th 30th & 31st May Pembrey NG Racing 3 rounds
3rd & 4th July Cadwell Park Derby Phoenix 2 rounds
17th & 18th August Anglesey Wirral 100 2 rounds
11th September Castle Combe New Era 1 round
23rd October Silverstone NG Racing 1 round
The race format per round is free practice, qualifying practice (the two practices may be combined into one session with timing starting after a pre-determined period) and then two Championship races with aggregated points.
New for 2010 is a riders’ committee to work with the ACU to develop the series. The riders have also appointed a series coordinator to manage each round with the organising club and to liaise with ACU.
At the end of the 2010 season the winner will receive the prestigious GSX-R Trophy and in each round the top three will receive trophies.
