MotorSport Vision Racing and the ACU are pleased to announce an added incentive for riders competing in the ACU Academy Cup, running within the Relentless British 125GP Championship.

In addition to a Championship prize fund of £7,500, the ACU will be paying the entry fees for the top 3 riders in the ACU Academy Cup’s final standings to take part in the last two rounds of the hotly contested Spanish 125 CEV Championship.

The Spanish 125 CEV Championship is widely regarded as an essential proving ground for young 125 racers.  With the final round of the Spanish series falling after the last World Championship race of the season, the grids are usually packed with Grand Prix regulars, making the meetings a must for young riders wishing to test themselves against the best in the world.

The CEV Championship has also acted as a launch pad into fulltime Grand Prix careers for British riders Bradley Smith, Danny Webb and Scott Redding.

Dave Luscombe, ACU Academy Manager said,
“The ACU is delighted to once again support the Relentless British 125 Championship, the acknowledged premier youth development class in British motorcycle racing.  The ACU Academy Cup, running within the main British Championship, will give 14 to 16 year old racers the opportunity to achieve recognition and reward for their ability – the top 3 at the end of the year getting a free entry into the hotly contested Spanish CEV 125 Championship.”

BSB Series Director Stuart Higgs is also pleased with new agreement with the ACU;
“The hard work of the ACU Academy is clearly bearing fruit, with the progression of its riders into the higher levels of British, and now significantly World Championships.   The ACU’s support for the 14 to 16 year old division of the Relentless British 125GP Championship will enable the next wave of emerging talent to sample International Championship racing which is invaluable for their career development.”
