A little on the warm side for our latest round at Snetterton over the weekend. But that didn’t make any difference to the exciting racing between the usual suspects. Ant Hart, Mike Edwards, Jack Long and Joe Woodward who were having some epic battles at the front, others having their own battles midfield in the Evo class and in the Clubman class Mark Fairweather, Martin Cockayne and Dean Widdowson, made up one of the battling trio, and Ian Higton, Doug Low and Daniel Donaghue made another battling trio all providing some very entertaining and close racing throughout the weekend.
The ACU championship had a couple of the front runners missing. Joe Woodward had a big off in the previous race, fortunately walking away with cuts and bruises but a seriously broken bike. Pole man Mike Edwards with another technical problem in the previous race put pay to any more action for the day. A good start from Jack Long saw him lead the first lap but Ant Hart soon took the lead on the second lap. Mark Evans and Dan Ledger 3rd & 4th but an early DNF for Evans saw Ledger slot into 3rd. This continued for the duration of the race resulting in 1st Ant Hart, 2nd Jack Long, 3rd Dan Ledger. With 10 laps of Snetterton the field was getting a little strung out but some worthy battles were being fought. Dave Lenton just pipping Joe Webb to the line by 0.035 of a second, Mark Fairweather just getting the better of Dean Widdowson by 0.2 of a second and Doug Low and Ian Higton duking it out with Higton just getting the better of Low.

Snetterton also saw new members come and race, some for the very first time. A big welcome to Simon Cooper, Steve House and Gavin Barber. All building their own machinery and having a blast out on circuit. That’s one of the fantastic parts of Supermono racing where you can build your own unique bike tailored to your specification and tuned to how you like to ride.
There is always plenty of help and information from the guys in the paddock, always willing to help, just come and have a chat.
Also big thanks to all that came to our Chilli-Con-Carnival night. It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves, and a big thanks to everyone behind the scenes making it happen.
We had a special moment in memory of two fellow riders James O'Mara and Alan Oversby. Both gracing our grids with their talents. A minute applause was had to celebrate their life with the racing community.
Another mention goes to Jim Porter who arranged a presentation of one of his own awards he received in his racing career. Jim raced Supermono's back in the day and awarded this to Jack Long for most improved up and coming rider. Congrats to Jack.
Next social will be the Donington Park BBQ Bonanza on the 1st August. We will have tickets for sale at Brands Hatch.
As usual a massive thanks to our sponsors that support our club, and a huge thanks to
CRMC - Classic Racing Motorcycle Club for hosting our series.
