The issue is simple, but the impact is significant. At present, a large proportion of Major Trauma Centres in the UK cannot consistently support 24/7 on-site helipad access. When that happens, air ambulances are often forced to land off-site, adding delays to the transfer of critically injured patients into specialist care.
This campaign is about improving hospital helipad access so patients can be transferred into specialist care as quickly and safely as possible.
