Adam Raga (Sherco-ESP) Wins
Missing out on the win in 2025 which was his first appearance in Scotland since 1999 inspired Adam Raga (ESP) to return to the Scottish Six Days Trial in 2026 where he became the first foreign winner since 2003 when Joan Pons (Sherco-ESP) won. The 280 riders who started enjoyed a good weeks riding with sunshine breaking through the cloud and light drizzle on the majority of the six days. Despite covering over 400 miles and taking in 168 observed sections their was only 26 retirements mainly due to rider fatigue and mechanical problems.
It was a fully focused Adam Raga who arrived in Scotland and he started as he meant to go on losing no marks until day four when he parted with a single mark to remain in the lead. Over the opening four days the Sherco rider had built up a small advantage and was leading on one mark lost with two days to go. Another single and a five mark loss for stopping on the penultimate day put him on equal marks with the younger of the two Hemingway brothers, 18 year old George on the 125cc Beta. They were both now on seven marks lost with one day remaining.
When Raga parted with early marks in the first group of the day at Lower Fassfern it briefly put George in the lead but the hard work suddenly became undone when he stopped on the huge rock step which made up section three and the five mark penalty that went with it. The pressure was now on after the elder Hemingway brother Harry showed his best form and the eventual top three, headed by Adam Raga would be separated by single marks with last years winner Jack Peace (Sherco) a further three marks adrift.
Of the ten lady riders entered it was Great Britains 10 x FIM World Champion Emma Bristow MBE (Sherco) who led the way with another Special First Class award finishing in 50th position. The early challenge from the current ACU British Champion Alice Minta (Beta) faded as she finished in 76th position with Kaytlyn Adshead (Vertigo) next in 100th position. The three lady rider relay team consisting of Louise Alford (GASGAS), Jess Bown (Scorpa) and Katy Sunter (GASGAS) finished intact as did the youngest ever female rider in the event Holly Dixon (Beta).
