Centre Championship returns to action at Blaxhall this Sunday

This Sunday sees the Woodbridge and DMCC host the fifth round of the Eastern Centre ACU Motocross Championship at their Blaxhall circuit near Woodbridge. With a bumper line up of nearly 40 Expert graded riders and 160 Junior riders ready to produce a full day of racing action on the sandy circuit.

Sunday's event will see an exciting 15 race programme featuring some of the counties best Expert and Junior rider battling for championship honours in their respective classes.

Following the recent the announcement that the Blaxhall circuit will be hosting a British Championship round in 2015, a number of British Championship riders will be making the trip to Suffolk to compete. Heading the line-up is MX2 front runners Neville Bradshaw and Lewis Tombs, along with other nationals riders including Aaron Pipon, Luke Benstead, Shaun Southgate, Matt Bayliss, and Jack Brunell. Also competing in the Expert class will be a number of top local riders such as reigning Centre Champion and former British Champion Carl Nunn, Syd Bales, Brad Tomlin, Jason Morland and new to the Experts class Sid Evans. With such a strong line up the racing is sure to be great.

Currently in the Expert Championship, three times Centre Champion Carl Nunn leads the point’s standings, but hasn't had it all his own way this season, only winning two of the twelve races so far. Fast starting Shaun Southgate will be looking to close the gap at the top, while Luke Benstead, always very fast around Blaxhall will be looking for strong results.

In the Junior Championship a host of young riders in their first year of adult racing have added extra spice to the Junior Championship, and sixteen year old Sid Evans, despite only competing in three of the four rounds leads the series, but the youngster has moved up to the Expert class. With Evans out of the class, Will Hempstead and early season leader Andrew Stephenson will be battling an on form Sean Avory along with Connor Hughes and Adam Day.
