After the cancellation of the first two rounds due to waterlogged venues, last weekend’s rounds in Devon were held in almost summer weather. Saturday Colin Dommett Trial run by the Torridge club on the North Devon Atlantic coast saw reigning champ Josh Golding partnered by girlfriend Claire Tooth see off a strong challenge from Mr TRS Steve Saunders with daughter Isobelle in the chair to win the championship class a feat they repeated on Sunday’s Andy Cheeseman Trial run by the West of England Club on Dartmoor, but Steve and Isobelle pushed they hard all day seeking that first championship win.
In the Intermediate class Daryl and Hannah Dales proved supreme all weekend with Robert and Stanley head, Jake Pope / Harvey Allaway and Paul Fishlock / Deborah Smith all swapping places each day to tie for second place in the standing on 30 points each.
Local South West man Peter Dale with George Lulham took first on Saturday and runner up on Sunday in the Clubman class with Sunday seeing Stuart Riches with Dave Goodison scoring their maiden victory in the class, smiling all the way back on the long drive to Yorkshire. In the Novice / Newcomers class Toby Smith and Hannah Moore improve with every ride and scored a double victory over the weekend.
