Sidecars Try Out Revamped Track

The Rusper Memorial Motocross Meeting takes place at the newly revamped track at Stammerham Farm on 8th September. This is also the second and final round of the SMCA Open Sidecarcross Series and looks to have virtually a full line of sidecars. Since the sidecars last visit back in May the Twickenham & DMCC have put an awful lot of hard work into to modifying and reversing the track. All of the modifications that have taken place are sidecar friendly, with all the jumps ride-able and safe for the less confident but should be do-able for the quicker riders.

With the exception of the top six from this seasons Maxxis British Sidecar Championship, who are on GP duty in France, the line up includes the majority from that series and the competitors from the Clubmans Championship. A mixture of new and re-born teams finish the line up. Apart from those who ride in the GP’s for many this will be the first meeting for a month and is eagerly awaited by riders and spectators alike. With the teams entered this should be a great meeting and one not to be missed.

The current leading driver of this series is Rob Oldfield with Paul Pelling and Jon Pannell not far behind but as passengers score their own points the leading passenger is Scott Grahame but is from a different team. Neither Scott nor the second placed passenger, John Murch, will be in action this time so lots of opportunity for others to take the title. Chris Pannell and Paul Horton are the top scoring passengers from the last round who are riding and will be trying to build on their points to take the title.

The action, which also includes solo expert and junior South Eastern Centre Championship, starts with timed training at 10am. Adult entry is £5.00 with kids free and oaps £3.00.
