Forty is a good number!

Sunday featured the adult teams and also twenty two sidecars. The sun was shining when eighteen Centre teams and one guest team made an appearance, and finished sixteenth. Yorkshire Team Manager Malcolm Rathmell also took possession of the Inter Centre Trophy again after the South Eastern Centre came on the scene in 2000.

Since this annual trophy came on line in 1932, eighty plus years ago the Yorkies have had it in their hands thirty nine times and on Sunday that number arrived at a nice round fortieth occasion! He even allowed his team members to hold the silverware for a photo shoot.

Martin Crosswaite was considering transporting it to the Busfield Arms to find just how ale it would hold. No chance, it is with 'Rastus' for the time being. A strong Yorkshire team contested the sidecar class led by multi champions Robin and Sam Luscombe who rode the entire course without penalty but finished third!. Baildon's Nigel Scott and Cleckheaton's Jay Ashley Hall were second in the Yorkshire team.

The South Eastern team won the day from Wessex Yorkshire Centre ACU President Stuart Lowther, from Richmond, presented all the awards while Bumpy's Julian Ford was the frontman for a remarkable ACU Inter Centre Team Trial, supported a formidable array of ladies from the Yorkshire clubs. Dave Willoughby formulated all results at the end of each day.
