Race With Arai and The ACU
ACU and Arai renew CTC training initiative

PHEONIX DISTRIBUTION, the UK importer of Arai Helmets, is continuing its support of entry-level motorcycle racing in conjunction with the Auto Cycle Union (ACU) throughout 2010.

Any rider who wishes to start racing with a Clubman or Clubman ‘A’ Road Racing Licence must complete the Competitor Training Course (CTC) at the ACU headquarters in Rugby. The Monday morning classroom-based course ensures a solid grasp of what’s needed to participate competently and safely at a road race meeting.

The usual CTC cost is £50 but any customer buying an Arai RX-7 GP, Quantum, Viper, Astro Light or Chaser helmet from an Arai Five Star dealer can receive a voucher which halves the cost of the CTC tuition. Riders who wish to take up this offer need only complete a simple form online at www.whyarai.co.uk and the £25 voucher is sent directly to them. The Arai Five Star dealer list can also be found on the site.

The ACU is the governing body for motorcycle sport throughout Britain and is focused on providing all participants with enjoyable, safe and competitive days of sporting action.

On renewal of the partnership with Phoenix, and Arai Dave Luscombe, the Business Development Manager for the ACU commented: “This is great news. The CTC is designed to ensure that the rider understands the basic safety and organisational requirements needed for road racing, and we’re delighted to carry on working with Arai in 2010 to promote this initiative. We hope that together we can encourage more potential racers and track day enthusiasts, through the CTC, to try racing and achieve a better understanding of how the process works.”
