The Darley Moor Motor Cycle Road Race Club are preparing the Darley Moor Sports Centre, near Ashbourne, DE6 2ET (or What3words: bounty.behalf.charm) for their second meeting of the season, Rounds 3 and 4, on Sunday 10th May 2026. Practice starts at 1000hrs, with the first race scheduled to start at 1130hrs but be sure to get your favoured viewing spot early, as the first race was the closest race of the day, the Open Solo class, at the opening meeting. At the time of writing four of the top five have their entries in for the forthcoming meeting; Matt Bell (Sheffield), Stephen Parsons (Carnforth), Jordan Rushby (Beverley) and Andy Taylor (Chesterfield). These four are also likely to be challenging for the top places in the Ben Godfrey Trophy races.
The top three of the Open 600 class will also be resuming their battles last time out, Ricky Tarren (Swadlincote) and Benjamin Dale (Warrington) sharing a win apiece, whilst Joseph Busefield (Stoke on Trent) improved on an opening race 5th place, with a Runner-Up place in the second race. Dale will also be towards the front of the field in the Golden Supersport races, looking to deny Jonathan Trezins (Wisbech) and Taylor Garner (Isle of Axholme) any chance of a victory.
Trezins will be hoping to repeat his double in the Darley Cup races, whilst Garner and Paul Evans (Awsworth), who both secured a 2nd place finish, will be looking to go one better this time out.
Freddy Oakley (Chesterfield) dominated the Wilson Trophy races, although Ant Porter (also Chesterfield) did suffer problems with his machine, so with that all sorted out, he’ll be looking to take the challenge to Oakley. The pair will no doubt be challenging for honours in the Lightweight class, along with Mike Lees (Congleton) and Steve Price (Stockport).
Richard Hughes (Wolverhampton) will be aiming to maintain his 100% title defence in the Honda CB500/Suzuki Bandit 600 class, whilst Lyndon Williams (Leominster) will be aiming to improve on his two 3rd places. Hughes will also be lining up on the grid on his 690 Kramer, in the Super Twins class, looking to upset the dominance of the Aprilia 660s of Championship leader Paul Evans, 3rd place Russell Dodds (Bedale) and second race-winner, last time out, David Carson (Northwich). Lining-up alongside them will be the Mini-Twins and double race winner, Anthony Thane (Stoke on Trent), the only entry, so far, too record points in both races. Thomas Gallagher (Loughborough) secured 2nd place in the second race and Liam Clements (Stafford) a 3rd place finish in the opening race, back in April.
Onto three-wheels and the Formula 600 entries are headed championship leaders Lee and Max Eastell (Thetford), multiple Darley Moor champions, currently 2nd in table, Howard Baker/Mike Killingsworth (Sutton Coldfield/Lincoln) with 5th place team, Richard Butler/Derek Taylor (Leicester/Eccles). Joining them on the grid, so far, will be the Open Class teams of 3rd place crew Alan Molyneux/Courtney Anderson (Rufford/Houghton le Spring) and 5th place pairing of Keith Waddington/Kyia Illman (Barnsley/Crewe).
