Those travelling along the Castletown Bypass in recent days will already have noticed a striking change to the safety fencing surrounding the Motor Isle Billown Course start and finish area ahead of this year’s Blackford Financial Services Pre-TT Classic Road Races.
Thanks to the support of JCK Limited, sponsor of the Southern 100 600cc B Races, the fencing has been repainted black to improve visibility for spectators and enhance the overall viewing experience around one of the most iconic sections of the course.
The fencing remains part of the safety infrastructure introduced following the tragic incident on the Castletown Bypass in 2023 and continues to play an important role in protecting both spectators and competitors. The new black finish allows for improved visibility whilst retaining essential safety standards.
The start and finish straight remains one of the best places to experience the unique atmosphere of road racing on the Isle of Man. Spectators can enjoy the action from alongside the fencing or from the comfort of the IFGL Grandstand, with uninterrupted views of the mass starts, race-long battles and dramatic photo finishes at the chequered flag.
Throughout the event, the Southern 100 catering team will also be on hand to keep spectators fed and refreshed while they enjoy the racing around the start and finish area.
Southern 100 organisers would like to thank JCK Limited for their support in enhancing the spectator experience at Billown ahead of this year’s meetings
