ACU Proud to Support FIM Sustainability Week 2026
The Auto-Cycle Union is proud to support FIM Sustainability Week 2026, which begins next week and once again brings together the global motorcycling community to promote positive environmental and social action across our sport.

Running from 1–7 June 2026, the sixth edition of FIM Sustainability Week is aligned with World Environment Day 2026 and carries the theme “Now For Climate – Research, Innovation, Resilience.”

As the governing body of motorcycle sport in Great Britain, the ACU encourages all clubs, riders, officials, organisers, promoters, volunteers and members to get involved—not just during Sustainability Week, but throughout the entire year.

The initiative aims to inspire positive change across the global motorcycling community, encouraging everyday actions that contribute to a more sustainable future.

This year’s campaign focuses on the urgent need for collective climate action and highlights the importance of communities working together to create lasting change.

The ACU believes sustainability is not simply a one-week campaign, but a long-term commitment that will help protect and strengthen the future of motorcycle sport for generations to come.

Throughout Sustainability Week, the global motorcycling community is encouraged to:

Raise awareness around sustainability within the sport
Share positive environmental initiatives
Support World Environment Day
Promote the values and community spirit of motorcycling

The campaign also highlights that meaningful change is achieved not only through major championships and events, but through the everyday choices made by riders, clubs and communities.

There are many simple and practical ways ACU members can support sustainability within motorcycle sport, including:

Sharing transport and travelling more efficiently
Reducing energy use at events, garages and homes
Improving recycling and waste disposal
Using smarter logistics and sustainable event practices
Supporting local environmental projects
Sharing good practices and inspiring others within the sport

Ideas promoted through the campaign include:

#RideSmartWeek – encouraging more efficient riding habits
Home Energy Pledge – making small changes at home to reduce energy use
Green Garage Action – improving sustainability in paddocks and workshops
Ride & Share Good Practices – celebrating climate-positive actions within clubs and federations
Plant Back What We Use – supporting local environmental and restoration projects

FIM President Jorge Viegas said Sustainability Week is an opportunity to “move from commitment to action” and encouraged the entire motorcycling community to “share stories that inspire and mobilise.”

The ACU encourages everyone involved in British motorcycle sport to continue sharing their sustainability initiatives, celebrations and ideas throughout the year to help inspire others across the wider motorcycling community.
