After the signing on and scrutineering of the machines which takes place in Fort William on the Sunday, the 288 competitors in the 2026 Scottish Six Days Trial will face the action on Monday, the opening day on the 4th of May. The six-day trial will take in a total of 168 observed sections covering the demanding 500-mile course before the final day on Saturday the 9th of May. Still very much a traditional event it has a long sporting heritage taking it back to the very first event in 1909.
Last year’s winner Jack Peace who will face some strong opposition as he battles to retain his title. Past winners in the entry include Jack Price, 2024 and James Dabill who won in 2007, 2011 and in 2019. Great Britain’s Dougie Lampkin MBE is the most successful rider in the events history with 14 wins, his first win came in 1994 and he last won in 2023. Adam Raga (ESP) will look to become the first foreign winner since Joan Pons (ESP) in 2003.
Despite retiring as a 10 x winner from the FIM TrialGP Women’s World Championship in 2024, Great Britian’s Emma Bristow MBE will compete once again In Scotland. With 13 consecutive Best Lady Rider awards, her best performance came in 2019 when she finished 29
th overall, she will face opposition from the 2025 ACU TrialGB Women’s British Champion Alice Minta and Kaytlyn Adshead.
