Smooth as silk: Steve Lawton flat out into Gerards
Steve Lawton cruised to two easy wins at the 50-80cc championship meeting on Sunday at Mallory Park. The wins move him to within 10 points of championship lead.
Weather conditions were perfect for breaking lap records and we saw Lawton post a new 80cc record of 1.048 with some super smooth riding, often around the outside of larger machines in the multi class race.
Current championship leader David Degroot had a mixed weekend with a 2nd in race one followed by fuel issues that stopped his attempts in race two.
The Championship now pauses until Sept 4th whilst in between there is a mini 4 race championship at the EMRA double header weekend for the 80’s and 125 streetstocks on the 6th/7th August for the Scott Park memorial trophy
