Festival of Power Unlocked

Tuesday June 22, 2021 at 11:18am

This event is usually the opening round for the new season, but due to covid it was put back to June and is the second round of the ACU Championships.

Top Fuel Bike.

Neil Midgley came out on top at the rain affected Springspeed Nationals, which saw only two completed qualifying sessions. Al Smith was the only other rider to get down the track with a good pass.  Both Allan Davies and Steve Woollatt had issues and will be hoping for a better race.  Nick Milburn makes his first appearance on the ex-Eric Teboul bike.

Funny Bike.

Stuart Crane stunned everyone with a 6.65-205mph out of the trailer pass.  The bike had a soft set up and there is more to come.  Lorcan Parnell could be Cranes biggest challenger.  Dave Peters has repaired his bike after a top end fire and Kevin Osman makes his first appearance.  Tony Clark is on Phil Crossley bike and both Jiri Lukes and Mark Smith will be hoping for better performance at the event.  Len Paget will once again compete on his Pro Stock Bike.

Comp Bike.

Louis Davies ran a personal best at the Springspeed Nationals and there is still more power to come.

Sean Mills will be Davies nearest challenger.  Chris Neary will be looking for his seven second combination and Jordan Kenway hoping to get down the track.

Super Street Bike.

Steve Venables did some testing recently and ran 7.3secs.  Mark Dainty was the number one qualifier at Springspeed Nationals and is looking to run in the 7.0secs.  Alan Morrison Jr had a good debut qualifying in number two spot.   Jake Mechaell and Ross Morrison debut their bikes to the class. Alex and Mark Hope will be attending as will Stephen Mead and Dave Smith. There will be first appearance of the year for both Graham Dance and Steve Wood.
