Top riders set to score at NETT

NETT is all set to play host to some of the best National Championships in the country this season, as well running its own regional Club Championship.

First up is the opening round of the SMCA Clubman Sidecar Championship which will take place on Sunday 25th April.  This is the day after the popular Northern Club’s own opening round on Saturday 24th April.  Both events take place at Wooley Grange, in the first of five double headers run by NETT, and this year the points from both rounds of the Club Championship will be count towards the Brian Winrow Memorial.

NETT then head to Dean Moor for the weekend of 29th/30th May where the opening rounds of both the British Quad Championship and the British Sidecar Championship are played out on the Sunday.

The British Quad Championship includes a new class this year (see separate story) and as well as the coveted British title, there will be a cash prize fund at the end of the series.

Both British Championships - quads and sidecars - will each have five counting rounds, with NETT scheduled to host their second rounds at Fatcats, Armthorpe on Sunday 27th June. Again, the club championship, which has classes for youth and adult quads and adult sidecars, will precede the British events on the Saturday.

And when NETT return to Dean Moor to run the annual Connor Smith Memorial Weekend on 17th/18th July, the Sunday programme will also feature another round of the SMCA Clubman Championship.

Championship co-ordinator for NETT, Karl Robinson, who has been instrumental in bringing these National Championships to the North of England, said: “NETT has a long history of running quads and sidecars at the same meeting, it’s always a good fit.  We look forward to welcoming some of the top racers in the country to our Northern tracks. They inspire our youth members and help create a great atmosphere and spectacular racing, which we hope will be enjoyed by everyone who joins us.”
