Fajardo Joins 25th Anniversary Line Up
Recently confirmed Sherco factory rider Jeroni Fajardo will break cover in his new team colours on Saturday 28th December 2019 when Sheffield Indoor Trial celebrates its 25th anniversary at the FlyDSA arena. The thirty-four-year-old Spanish protagonist will be keen to make an early impact on board his new machine and certainly has both the talent and experience to challenge for top spot, which has previously eluded him inside the famous Yorkshire venue.

Fajardo’s best result to date on his numerous visits to the Steel city was a runners-up finish to Toni Bou back in 2013. Second in qualification, again to Bou, Jeroni pushed the current King of Sheffield right to the wire on that occasion in the final, missing out on what would have been an historic win by a single mark.

Part of Spain’s winning Trial des Nations team earlier this year, Jeroni made his Sheffield debut on 7th January 2006 riding a Gas Gas. The then twenty-one-year-old made it through to the final at his first attempt in third spot, disposing of more experienced rivals in the form of Albert Cabestany, Takahisa Fujinami and a certain Dougie Lampkin before claiming a podium placing overall.

It would be 2012 before Fajardo climbed back on the box at Sheffield Indoor Trial as he again secured third place this time behind eventual winner Bou and runner-up Adam Raga, having missed out on second position by way of a tie-break.

2014 saw the now Sherco mounted rider equal his best placing with yet another visit to the lower step of the rostrum before being knocked back off the box by Raga a year later. The 9th January 2016 marked another milestone for Fajardo, as he gave the all new Vertigo its first outing, fourth on the night was a respectful result for the newly developed bike in his capable hands. Twelve months on Jeroni suffered a less successful evening on his return to the city as he failed to qualify for the final.

Missing from the line up for the last two editions, Fajardo is set to make a welcome return to Sheffield alongside the other confirmed riders - Toni Bou, Adam Raga, Jaime Busto, James Dabill and Jack Price. The remaining two riders for the 25th anniversary competition will be announced shortly, with event promoters Avondale Management promising to add some exciting young talent to the established cast.

Ticket prices are held again at the same level as the previous editions - £32.50 for adults and £22.50 for under 14s. Standard tickets can be purchased from the arena box office - 0114 256 56 56 or online at www.flydsaarena.co.uk – A limited number of VIP tickets - £99.95 – are available exclusively from G2F Media – 0161 763 6660 or online at www.g2fshop.com
