Etchells Claims European Championship
The European championship closed its doors for another year this weekend in Heinola, Finland. The final round saw 5 British riders head out for what was to be a great round for all. A great selection of tests made for a tough couple of days racing followed by a mx race for each class on the last day.

Newly selected British junior ISDE rider Manx man Jed Etchells, had an absolute stormer of a weekend really solidifying his spot on the team. Winning day one outright and P2 the next two day gave Jed P2 overall and also the overall in the junior E2/3 class. Following his success at the previous round in Latvia Jed has really made his mark on the European championship coming away being E2/3 European champion. It will be exciting to see what he can do moving on towards the last British round and ISDE.

Gas Gas rider Luke Parker had a steady consistent first two days of the event coming away with a pair of 5th places, it was the mx day where Luke really excelled. The former motocross rider came away with the win on the day which boosted him up to a fantastic 3rd overall in the senior E3 class.

Mr consistent James Jackman has a trio of 4th places throughout the weekend in the vets class, narrowly missing the podium. Still improvements on the previous round so I’m sure he’ll be happy with the result.

Nieve Holmes and Rosie Rowett two of Great Britain’s Women’s ISDE members also made the journey to Finland. Nieve had the better of the twos weekend, two fourth places on the first two days, and a 2nd on the last MX day was a fantastic showing. The previous mx experience helping her out for sure. 3rd for the round and 2nd overall in the championship is defiantly something to be proud of for Nieve.

Rosie has a weekend of building momentum, with an 8th on day one she only improved from there on with a brilliant 5th on day two and an even better 3rd on the final MX day which meant  Rosie secured 4th in the final championship standings .
