Green Light Nationals at Santa Pod Raceway

Monday August 5, 2019 at 3:18pm
The Green Light Nationals takes place on the 17-18th August and it will be a double header for Funny Bike and Comp Bike only. Saturday 17th will be round four of the championships.  Qualifying and eliminations taking place on the same day. Sunday will be round five with the same format.

Funny Bike.

Kars Van Den Belt has been runner up in every event this season and will be hoping he makes it into the winners circle at this event. He is the championship points leader by 305 points ahead of Springspeed Nationals winner Dave Batcheler. Dave Peters hasn’t had luck this season and could win. Phil Crossley is getting more comfortable with Bob Brookes bike and is another rider who could win the event. Former ACU Comp Bike Champion Kevin Osman makes his first appearance of the season and debut in the Funny Bike class.

Comp Bike.

Newcomer to Comp Bike Louis Davies has really set the bar so far with winning the opening two rounds of the championship and runner up in round three. With Reigning ACU Comp Bike Champion Margot Schmidt racing in the European FIM Championship at Hockenheim, Davies has a 700 points advantage over Valentijn Sandtke who is his nearest challenger entered for this event. Phil Leamon and John McLean Jr are in the points table. Paul Hambridge is back on form (7.4secs) and could be the man to beat. Sam Sykes had a good outing at the Summernationals and Chris Neary has also entered. Super Street Bike rider Chris Reed has entered the class for this event and could surprise everyone.
