Three Brits Go Through to Grand Prix Challenge
Great Britain trio Craig Cook, Robert Lambert and Chris Harris are all through to the Grand Prix Challenge in August.

Cook won Saturday’s qualifier with a 15-point maximum on his home Championship track of Glasgow, whilst Lambert also made it through that meeting on 12.

Harris, meanwhile, finished second in the Lamothe qualifier on 13 points and is also just five rides away from the 2020 GP series. Charles Wright rides at Abensberg on Monday.

Niels-Kristian Iversen and Pontus Aspgren were the other two qualifiers from Ashfield, but former World Champion Chris Holder was a surprise casualty as he finished fifth. Dan Bewley picked up five points in Zarnovica.

Cook said: “It’s job done really. It was always going to be a tough night but I did what I had to do.

“I’m delighted the way it went. I had to make a few passes. But I managed to get the results I needed.

“I’ve made no secret of the fact I want my place back in the Grand Prix series. That’s my goal for this season. So I’m halfway there now.”

Lambert added: “Tonight was just about getting through to the Challenge. I’m happy to have come through this round and now we can focus on the next one when it comes around.”
