Freeman does the double in Greece!
The Enduro GP tour headed to Serres in Greece for the 7th and 8th rounds of the Championship with current championship leader Brad Freeman looking to extend his lead over fellow Brit Steve Holcombe. Daniel McCanney was also looking for big things in Greece to keep his championship hopes alive.

On Day 1 it was Holcombe who started out strong and had the lead after the first lap, however Steve’s lack of bike time and fitness due to his recent illness came into effect and as the tests deteriorated, unfortunately, so did Steve. Brad Freeman was there to charge through into the lead and relegate Steve down to 2nd for yet another 1-2 scratch result for the British Beta boys. McCanney had a difficult day but still scored strong points and finished 2nd in E3 to Holcombe. Joe Wootton rode a solid day to pick up more points with 6th in E2 and 15th overall.

On day 2 it was Freeman’s day from the word go, but he almost threw it all away with a big crash on one of the late Enduro tests. He picked up a shoulder injury but still rode through the pain barrier on the last lap to pick up another overall victory. Holcombe had a very difficult day but still charged as hard as he could to pick up good championship points within the top 10. McCanney turned things around for day 2 and eventually came home 4th overall in the GP and he took home the victory in E3! Wootton had an ever-better day 2 going but unfortunately he was a retirement at TC6.

Of our younger riders it was just the Junior category present in Greece as there was no 125 class. It was Jack Edmondson and Alex Walton who both had a good weekend. Jack struggled with the heat but still carded 7th overall both days and 3rd in Junior 2 both days! He is still right in the mix for the Junior 2 World Championship! Alex Walton finished 15th day 1 and a great 13th on day 2. His best result to date. He was 7th and 7th in Junior 1.

The only Brit in the Open Cup Trophy in Greece was none other than four time, or should I say, five time World Champion, David Knight. He scored another back to back victory in his class and was crowned the Senior Open Cup Trophy Champion for 2019!
