Former Manx Grand Prix winner Tom Weeden was in action in Ireland recently making his debut at the Cookstown 100 races.  Tom, who is 24 and comes from Kent, was the Senior Manx Grand Prix winner in 2016.

 

He was riding with teammate Derek Sheils for Burrows Engineering.

 

Before the event, he said he watched on-board laps then spent time driving round the course.

He told Bikesport News: 'I just want to enjoy it and make further steps forward in preparation for the North West 200 and the TT.'  In the Supersport race he achieved a 12th place and a 13th position in the Grand Final.

 

A number of last year's MGP winners also took part at Cookstown, including James Chawke and Darryl Tweed, along with 2018 Newcomers Mike Browne and Veronika Hankocyova. Chris Stuart from Nottingham who is planning to make his Manx debut along with Andrew Jackson, Wirral and Mark Kirby, Northumberland were also competing at Cookstown.
