International Six Day Enduro 2016 Day Three Report: GB World Trophy Team 4th, GB World Junior Team 6
The ACU British ISDE Teams experienced mixed fortunes today on day three of the 2016 International Six Days Enduro in Navarra, Spain. The British World Trophy team riders suffered a couple of mishaps today that relegated them to fourth place and widened the gap to the leaders, the USA, to just over three minutes. Meanwhile, the British World Junior Trophy rode consistently well to lift themselves to sixth place.

ACU GB ISDE Team Manager, Dusty Martin: “Luck plays its part in an event like this and today we had some bad luck and some good. Jamie McCanney was unlucky enough to take a tumble in the first test and damaged his clutch lever and perch, it cost him a lot of time in that test and the next while riding without the clutch. The good luck was he was able to fix it at the first available service and for the rest of the day it was business as usual. But with the times so tight that did drop us to fourth in the standings.

“The Junior World Trophy team were going well today and pulled up a place –so it’s one up one down today – and again the three of the juniors are very close on times, a good team. It’s a six day competition, though, so we’ve just got to keep chipping away and limit any losses. All the bikes are running fine at this time, the riders are managing their service well. We’ll just keep pushing on.

“Special mention today to our two service teams out on the course, Tony Altass managing one, Neville and Jude King the other. These guys have the job down to a fine art and this again helps keep the boys on their minute day after day with the minimum of stress and knowing support is there when issues like Jamie’s happen.

“The weather remains patchy, we’ve had rain today and more is forecast, but by the end of the week it’s set to clear up – should be good for the event finale. But we’ve got plenty of riding to get through before then.”
