Brown and Chamberlain claim victory at Wakes Colne
The Halstead club had put in a lot of hard work preparing their Little Loveney Hall circuit and they were rewarded with a beautiful sunny day, some excellent racing and a substantial crowd to watch the twelve race programme.

The sidecar entry was over thirty outfits which at this time in the season was extremely good and some good racing ensued. In timed practice defending champions, Stuart Brown / Josh Chamberlain put up the fastest time with Brett Wilkinson / Steve Kirwin second and Daniel & Joe Millard third.

When the gate dropped for the start of moto one the blast up the hill was headed by Simon Bradford / Luke Peters from Brown with Jack Etheridge / Scott Grahame third. At turn two Etheridge stalled his engine and Keane / Horton ran into the back of them. They rejoined the race last and last but one. Before the end of one lap Brown was in the lead with Wilkinson second and Bradford now down to third. Millard was fourth and the leaders of the Experts class, Grahame / Lloyd were in sixth. By the end of the second lap Millard was up to third with Jarvis / Chamberlain fourth. At the front Brown had opened up a significant gap over Wilkinson but did not ease up and continued to pull away. On lap three Grahame pulled out promoting the Irish crew Moulds / Gardner to lead the Experts. Brown went on to take the win from Wilkinson with Millard third. After his terrible first lap Etheridge rode an excellent race to finish ninth.

In the second leg Wilkinson took the holeshot from Brown with Bradford third. Brown was very quickly in the wheel tracks of Wilkinson but it took a further two laps before he could get past. Millard was now up to third and Jarvis fourth. Etheridge had a much better start and was in fifth place for the duration of the race. For the last few laps Brown appeared to slow down and Wilkinson closed the gap but it was too little too late and Brown took win number two. Millard took third place from Jarvis.

The final race of the day saw Wilkinson take the holeshot from Brown but a pile up in turn one took out Jarvis, Keane and Walton / Barnes. They were all able to restart but at the back. At the front it took Brown a couple of laps to make his move on Wilkinson and on the same lap Millard overtook Etheridge to take third. Etheridge held fourth place until mid way through the race when an incident with a tail ender put them out. With the track becoming rougher the pace did drop a bit but Brown still took the win from Wilkinson with Millard third. Brown / Chamberlain are still unbeaten this year and now have a forty nine point advantage over Wilkinson with Bradford a further fifty one points behind in third. Grahame / Lloyd are still ahead in the Experts class, thirty five points ahead of Moulds / Gardner.

The overall winners of the Experts class were Walton / Barnes from Hodges / Hodges and Moulds / Gardner in third. It was a shame that there were no trophies for them to receive on the podium.

The final round of the championship will take place at Canada Heights on 4th October when Brown will be hoping to win title number thirteen.
