SKUSE OUT TO CLOSE GAP ON HOME SOIL
This Sunday August 16th the Phoenix Tools/Ifly Premier motocross Championship returns back up in to Wiltshire to Marshfield where the second half of the series gets underway with round 6.

In the Phoenix Tools/Ifly Pro Expert class it’s still Shane Carless on the Oakleaf Motorsport Honda who heads the standings by 41 points from Jamie Skuse on the Tony Maunders Racing Suzuki who will be on home soil and will be looking to close that deficit. Currently in 3rd is the Phoenix Tools/Ifly Husqvarna of Alfie Smith who will have to be at his best as right on his tail is the Meredith Mx Suzuki of Ross Keyworth, but there are plenty of other riders in attendance like Alex Snow who lies 5th in the standings who for sure will be looking for points after missing the last round, recently winner of the Famous Patchquick Trophy Jake Shipton, Kelvin Townsend, Tom Moore, James Harrison, Ross Hill and Ben Hunt to name a few.

In the Tony Maunders Expert Open Championship it’s the Phoenix Tools/Iffy Husqvarna of Charlie Putnam who heads the standings by 23 points from David Keet on the Danger UK Husqvarna, but there in 3rd just 8 points adrift of Keet is the 2-stroke KTM of James Kensington who won the last round at Pontrilas who will be on a high, but others all hoping to be in the frame include DSC Cornwall Kawasaki pairing Jack Stevens and Ben Butler, Jake Penny, Josh Taylor, Sam Gabriel and Lewis Barfoot plus many more.

In the M D Racing over age classes its defending over 35 Champion Nick Life on the Gibbs Performance/St Blazey Yamaha who will be returning after missing the last round still leading the Over 35 Championship, but he had his lead cut to just 14 points at the last round by Rick Hanson on the Readypower KTM who will be looking to do well again as will the likes Stephen Elford, Carl Dezis and Jamie Deadman who took the win at the last round to name a few.

In the Over 40’s class it’s Crescent/New Milton Tyres Suzuki of Terry House who tops the standings by 77 points from round 5 winner Chris Brown on the Cheddar Mx Store Honda who will be looking for a repeat performance, but there is many others capable of causing an upset like Richard Green, David Ford, Rob Lewis, Richard Tapscott and many more.

In the Over 50’s defending Champion Mark Gleadhill has a massive lead over Graham Beale, but Beale will have to be at his best if he is to maintain that second spot as right on his heels just 10 points behind is Adrian Toy who has been going well recently.

In the Tyremarks Junior Championship class it’s Jamie Carpenter on the Phoenix Tools/Ifly Husqvarna who is on fire at the moment and has a slender lead at the halfway stage and he will be out to increase that lead even more unless someone can put a stop to his winning ways. There is plenty of talent lining up beside him at the weekend like Billy King, Jay Lewis, Josh House who are all capable of winning races plus many wildcards.

Marshfield is a fast flowing track with easy parking and will be signposted off the A46 (Sat Nav SN14 8JG) with the first race at 10-30am. (There are still a few spaces left in all classes, for more info ring Greta on (01884 840078)
