Due to circumstances beyond our control we have been forced to change venue for this Sunday's (April 26th) third round of the NORA Quad Championship.
This event will now be held at Brakehill in Northamptonshire (NN14 3NB) and NOT at Pontrilas.
The reason is because the electronic timing system will not currently work at this venue and we can only assume that the nearby SAS army site has increased the signal blocking for secrecy and security.
Following problems experienced by other clubs recently we were contacted by the landowner to advise of the problem in advance of our visit. We visited the track today to test all the electronic timing equipment and experienced significant issues which we could not overcome.
As a club we are not set-up for manual lap scoring, plus we are also obliged to offer full electronic timing as one of the conditions our classes counting as official ACU British championships .
We tried to get Culham but it was not available to us this weekend, so will now use Brakehill to ensure that the meeting can go ahead on the date that has been on everyone's calendar for several months.
Since our last visit to Brakehill the track has been changed to run in the opposite direction, and we have today booked Richard Rose (the UK's top track builder) for three days this week to enhance the circuit specifically for quads. You will see some great additions and changes.
We appreciate this late change will inconvenience some and we can only apologise for that, however we hope you also appreciate we can't really tell the SAS what to do!!
