‘World Championship Frontrunners to Race at Lyng’

In what is arguably the roughest and toughest, and probably most demanding form of motorcycle sport, the UK’s top Sidecarcross teams descend on Cadders Hill, Norfolk, for round four of the 2014 Maxxis British Sidecarcross Championship this weekend, Sunday July 27th.

Fresh from victory at the French Grand Prix just over a month ago, Stuart Brown and Josh Chamberlain arrive at Lyng looking to maintain their 100% win record in this season’s domestic series. With no less than eleven British titles to his name Brown has been the undisputed three wheel king in Britain for a number of years, but the demanding former GP venue may well see the chasing pack displacing him from the winners podium.

Leading the charge will be the Millard brothers, Daniel and Joe, who have themselves been in superb form recently. They led the last British championship race in Cornwall, until the final lap when they were overhauled by Brown and Chamberlain, and have consistently placed in the top six in this year’s world championship events. Another pairing that will have eyes on the victor’s champagne will be Richard Jenkins and Dan Chamberlain. With six podiums in the opening nine races, despite Jenkins sustaining wrist and shoulder injuries while on Grand Prix duty, the current third placed duo have all the credentials to take top spot.

The sidecar class will get to race three times within the packed race schedule that the Norwich Vikings MCC have lined up at the Norfolk circuit.  Support classes include the hugely popular NGR championship for Over 30’s, Over 40’s, and new for 2014, Over 50’s who will do battle over one of the toughest and most spectacular tracks in the UK. Also on the agenda will be 3 groups of Allcomers races, that have attracted a full line up of some the Eastern Centre’s leading riders.

Action gets underway with practice at 9.45am, with the first race due off the line at 11.30am. Admission is £10, which includes a programme, accompanied children Under 14 free, concessions and unaccompanied children £5. For full details please visit www.norwichvikings.co.uk
