Wildcards Announced for the ACU British Masters in September

Friday July 4, 2014 at 3:09pm

With the ACU Track Racing British Masters Challenge set to take place at Ledbury on the 20th July the ACU Track Racing committee are pleased to announce the wildcards for the Masters Final on 21st September at Swingfield.

The committee have allocated the entries of three wildcards for the Solo championship and one for the Sidecar championship.

In the 500cc Solo class David Howe has been given a space in the Final after missing the grading list due to his injuries during the 2013 season, but his recent strong showing at FIM European Championship Final at Saint Macaire where he finished second has proven that he is worthy of a place in the Final. Top international rider Richard Hall has also been accepted for a wildcard place, to assist his challenge for World Long Track Championship honours whilst recovering from the serious shoulder injuries sustained at the end of last season. The final wildcard place has been awarded to former Masters Challenge winner and Under 21 winner Tim Nobes who missed the grading list due to a broken ankle during the 2013 season.

The one wildcard entry for the British Masters 1000cc Sidecar championship will be Rod Winterburn and his passenger Liam Brown. Unfortunately Winterburn suffered an injury last season and is still recovering from his injuries and will not be fit before the Challenge.

The wildcards will line up against the seeded riders from last year’s event and the entry list looks like this at the moment.
