Bradshaw and Dougan contest Premier Championship at Foxhills

This Sunday June 15th the Phoenix Tools Premier Motocross Championship rolls in to Wiltshire to the ever Popular Foxhills Moto Parc, Swindon for round 5 in the series. There is a bumper entry for this round with just a few spaces left in the Experts which has attracted many wildcards like Neville Bradshaw on the Putoline Honda, MVRD Honda rider Jason Dougan and one of the Countries up and coming young stars Liam Knight on the Dyer & Butler KTM, but they of course won’t be eligible for Championship points.

Going in to round 5 in the Expert Open Championship it’s defending Champion Luke Hawkins on the Phoenix Tools Rocket Honda who leads the Championship by 71 points over team mate Alex Snow who will be looking to close that gap as will Jake Shipton on the Crescent/Strudwick Racing KTM who is just 6 points adrift of Snow in 3rd, but lining up beside them will be the likes of local Wiltshire based 2012 Champion on the Tony Maunders Racing Suzuki Jamie Skuse who will have plenty of local support, John May on the St Blazey Husqvarna, the TwoNineTwo Honda of James Dodd, Oakleafs Kawasaki’s Luke Mellows, Luke Dean on the Meredith Suzuki, Tommy Alba on the d S C Kawaqsaki, Dan Thornhill on the Fowlers Honda, Darren Shears on the PCMP Kawasaki plus many others.

Also featured at Foxhills will be the popular Over 35, Over 40’s and 50’s Championship which this year has given us some top quality racing. In the Over 35’s it’s Nick Life on the Gibbs Performance Yamaha who heads the standings from the Hanson Garage Honda of Keith Hanson who moved up in to 2nd at the last round by 68 points, but Foxhills will be a new venture for Life where as Hanson will have rode there many times in his career, so the battle is set. Other competitors will include Jamie Deadman, Stephen Elford, Martyn Tucker and Rob Lewis to name a few. The Over 40’s class sees Chris Brown still heading the Championship but its close behind him with just 7 points separating David Ford and last years Champion Steve Locke. The Over 50’s sees Mark Gleadhill heading the Championship from Steve Chugg, but just 2 point adrift in 3rd is Adrian Toy who is just 15 points ahead of David Lidbetter in 4th so the racing should be close..

In the Junior Championship it’s Jack Stevens on the D S c Kawasaki who extended his Championship lead at round 4 to 59 points over Olly Jones, but as with many other rounds there will be plenty of other riders who are likely to shine including many wildcards who will be all keen to ride on what is one of the Countries top venues.

Foxhills will be signposted off the M4 Motorway at Junction 15 with the first race at 10-30am, for more info contact Mel on 01626 365335
