Ripon Motor Club Annual Awards and Dinner Dance.
One hundred and five members and officials, with their families, attended the function at the Millstones Restaurant for the presentation of the awards for the 2013 season. The awards were presented by Sandra Lowther, wife of guest of honour Yorkshire Centre ACU President, Stuart Lowther, with the assistance of Harrogate motorcycle and van dealers Paul and Joel Sadler.

  The Acklams Motorcycles Company, based at Harrogate, sponsor the Summer Trials Series. The seven event series attracted a total entry of seven hundred and two competitors in several different classes. Awards were also presented for the other major trials organized by the club.

 

Ripon MC Chairman Keith Blythe thanked the landowners for their generous use of land and welcomed them to the dinner. He also went on to announce that the Boxing Day Charity Trial had raised £2,600 to be shared between British Heart Foundation and Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

  The ACU Benevolent Fund was to receive £700 from the club and a later raffle raised £190 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Carol Johnson, a local auctioneer, agreed to sell off a new N.Z.I. trials helmet which was knocked down to Masham Sausages managing director Paul Dennis for £125. After the presentations the Darlington Country and Weston Group the "Root'n Toot'n" played which led to some very energetic exercise from certain members.

  The event was organized by Winksley farmers Lillian and Peter Fleetham.
