Zona One ran the second round of the Youth C and D Trials Championship at Birdlip Quarry on Sunday where the same riders who braved the Westmorland rains are again engaged in a tight battle for championship points.

Two out of the four classes in the championship have riders on equal points.

At the top of the classes, Class C Standard Wheels, Cornwall’s Billy Green is head to head with Nottingham’s Daniel Slack. The Cornish boy has a rare talent that has shone through since his early days. Daniel Slack has really got into his stride and now shares the points table with Green. Both have thirty seven points.

Bradford youngster Joe Faunthorpe and his Keighley rival Jacob Snowdon are climbing the tables rapidly. Snowdon has settled into a thinking competitor, and it shows. Yorkies are knocking at the door in Class C Medium Wheels with Bumpy member Charlie Mosley and Edward Earle level on thirty seven points. In third place is the dynamic Shropshire girl Alice Minta and the auburn haired girl took no prisoners.

The Zona One results illustrate just how close both Class C categories are in strength.

The boy making serious waves in Class D Medium Wheels is Surrey Schoolboys club member Jack Dance and his Club colleague Dale Freeman. Jack is the maximum leader ahead of Freeman with Bradford’s Jacob Smith and Catterick’s Ellliott Laws equal on twenty eight points.

Top of the table in Class Small Wheels is Henry Stephenson but Harry Hemingway, son of Dan, held sway at Zona One on Sunday. Dominic Horne and Westmorland Club member Harry Turner head the leader board.

The North East Centre A.C.U. stage the next championship events at Hope Farm, Long Framlington, Northumberland on August 3/4
