It is with great sadness that the Donington Demons has been cancelled after spending many months preparing for the event. The original adult practice and Youth Championship went without a hitch which spurred us on to organise the WSBK main event in May.
However the inclement weather and rains curtailed our plans, as it did for many other clubs. Onward and upward, the club immediately plumped for the next big event which was the British Superbikes on the weekend of 8th September. Our hosts Donington Park Limited had offered us 3 dates to coincide with the circuit calendar.
After the Castle Donington ground staff had worked miracles, the track is perfect for racing after recovering from the Download Music Festival which was held during heavy rain.
The event has unfortunately been cancelled to due to a lack of entries and it is such a great shame for the East Midlands and for Donington Park who as landowners believed in the dream of bringing Grass Track Racing back to its original home.
