BritishJunior Super Moto Championship Round Five From Three Sisters Race Circuit

The weather looked promising for Round Five of The British Supermoto Championship, but a very heavy shower left riders with a difficult tyre choice, the majority opted for a wet set up with Matt, Dylan and Steven choosing to opt for a slick. An early fall for Stephen Campbell left him struggling to restart the bike and loosing valuable qualifying time, with Daniel Drayton sitting comfortably on pole position.

With race one underway Daniel Drayton took advantage of the front row position to lead the race leaving Matt Raven, Dylan Henderson and Steven all battling for second position, Stephen was unfortunate to fall again early into the race which left the second place battle to Matt and Dylan as Daniel pulled out a comfortable lead.

Tom Elam was looking good on the bike uncontested in fourth, while Jess Mitchell had been chased by Hollie Poulton and only lost her position on the final lap. The top three over the line were Daniel, Matt and Dylan.

In Race two Daniel had pulled out a good lead again but with only three laps to go and rain had begun to fall he lost the front end coming off the dirt section, and despite restarting quickly he only had two laps to pull back to third position as the final flag came down, Steven had been battling with Matt for second place but a touch on Matt’s back wheel saw Steven also go down but he restarted quickly and finished in fourth. Matt took the win in race two with Dylan Henderson taking second place.
Tom had another consistent race to finish in fifth with Hollie pulling away from Jess in race two.

The Heavens opened again soaking the track before the final race but Daniel had a good start once again and pulled away in the lead setting the fastest lap, Matt Raven continued to pressure Daniel throughout the race but Dan lead a faultless race for the final win of the day. Stephen in turn had pressured Matt for second spot as these two riders left Dylan adrift in fourth, but a couple of small mistakes left Stephen loosing pace and unable to challenge he settled for a third place and a podium finish after a brilliant days riding seeing him setting the fastest lap in the first two races.

Daniel took away two wins and a third place position at round five to claim the majority of the points on the day, and the top spot on the podium.
