With the growing interest in Twinshock enduros the ACU championship is growing in popularity and testament of this was the large entry in the last round at the Welsh Two Day. Despite being one of the toughest “Welshs” in recent years the twinshock boys showed their metal by being one of the best finishing rates in the event, it also saw one of the greats of British Enduros Geraint Jones back on a Maico that saw him dominate British Enduros in the early eighties. However a heavy fall early on saw him pull out however that did allow his nephew Robert to win both days on another Maico.
The series takes a “summer” break until the Manchester 17s Brinks Hare n Hounds on the 19 August where series leader Church Stretton’s Ian Spence hopes to extend his single point lead over Husky Specialist Andy Elliot. Husqvarnas also lead the way in the clubman class with Nigel Heath leading Paul Noble with SWM pilot Sam Davidson third.
