Mansfield Maun this weekend takes the ACU Women’s and Girls Trials Championship series into the second half of the six event series on Sunday at Bracken Rocks. Sunday’s event will see twenty two riders will contest four championship routes.
On paper it will be a battle of strength and skill when double winner Becky Cook and challenger Emma Bristow clash again. Bracken does not forgive mistakes and Terry Crabtree’s efforts in amongst Hollway’s famous rock garden will test all riders. In Class A Nikita Smith seems to hold the aces over Chloe Richardson but again, it will be who wants it the most.
Class B is fascinating with Hannah Richardson and Bristol’s Victoria Payne head to head and the rapidly rising-upwards, Louise Alford even more determined than her famed sister Caz to latch onto Hannah and Victoria.
Gabby Whitham has a handful on her hands in the form of fiery Alice Minta. The tough little girl from the Shropshire hills rode two years under the Class C age group, and scored well. Only Gabby and Nikita Smith stand on maximums to date. Local lady Michelle Naufahu will be at home at Bracken Rocks. Michelle also ‘drives’ the Mansfield Maun results computer.
Start time will be 11.00 am with a four and half hour time allowance to ride a dozen sections three times. The hormones will be in the air at Holloway on Sunday morning.
