The Members were given an overview of the new ACU Permit System which was welcomed by all and Ms Xenia Munro was thanked for her excellent contribution in project managing this welcomed updated version of the Permit application.
Some discussion took place regarding a proposed new On Line Licencing System which is planned for later this year to coincide with the next Licence Renewals in readiness for 2012. Initially, on line licencing will be available for Off Road disciplines and once this has been successfully rolled out, the more detailed intricacies of medical requirements and eye sight reports will be looked at with a view to including Road Race competitors in the future. The General Secretary will be issuing a consultation paper to be sent to all Centres and Club Secretaries for their comments which are required back at ACU Head Office by 30th June.
A more streamlined affiliation process was adopted which will enable a new Club wanting to join the ACU to be affiliated within the space of two weeks instead of waiting for a meeting of the National Council which has been the process thus far. New Clubs welcomed to the ACU during this meeting were as follows:
Norfolk MXC
Rogershill Off Road Events
Peterchurch Grass Track Club
Crowthorne Cycle Trials Club
Hookwood Trials Club
Heart of England MCC
Lydney MCC
Three Shires Trials Club
