Motocross
This weekend the Norwich Vikings MCC will be hosting the third round of the 2011 Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship at the famous Lyng circuit near Norwich. With some of the best riders in the world competing at the sandy circuit, the action should be fast and furious. In MX1 Ben Townley has signed up to race against the likes of Jason Dougan, Brad Anderson, Kristian Whatley and the Buildbase CCM duo of Tom Church and Stephen Sword, while former GP Winner Gert Krestinov will be looking for a strong result. Silverstone is renowned as the home of British motorsport and is an exciting new venue for the opening of the 2011 season. This will be the first time that the championship has visited the venue but some of the top riders have already familiarised themselves with the track. Sunday’s meeting is sure to a highly competitive meeting even with a couple of riders missing from the line up while on UEM Championship duty in France.

Ricky Wiggins won at the opening round and James Fry took the second round but they both have young Jack Sheppard to look out for. Jack missed the season opener and then came second in Devon.
