MERTHYR MOTOR CLUB TRIAL SATURDAY 19TH MARCH
Merthyr Motor Club held Round 2 of their Club Championship on Saturday 19th March at Glyn Mil Farm, Merthyr. With an entry of over 50 riders and the sun shining, it looked like everyone was in for a good afternoon. Martin Jones and his team marked out a course consisting of 8 section which included tricky banks, drop off’s and a few steps thrown in for good measure, on the expert course only two riders took up the challenge, local rider Alistair Bedford and Youth A Class Joel Edwards, with Alistair coming out on top only a few marks in front. Another young rider Jarred Stanfield showed he still had it by finishing on top in the Master Class with a big margin between second place rider Martin Price and the old timer Martin Jones following behind. Youth rider Liam Owen had an excellent ride on the Youth Master Course, showing how well he had come on over the last year. Riding the Clubman Course Dai Bedford took the honours closely followed by Dai Clothier. Mention must go to Rob Ransom who excelled himself on the Sportsman Master Course. Special award also to Cynan Thomas Jones who had a go at most of the section on his Beta 50 with his dad running along behind, ‘well done dad’.
